Bush's Beans x Refinery29

When a friend at Refinery29 tapped me to art direct a 3-part recipe series I was immediately excited. I love working with food because each recipe lends its own color palette to the piece. Bush’s wanted demonstrations of a series of recipes rolled out seasonally during late summer, fall and winter. With the help of the ingredients, we designed each color world accordingly.

Knowing that the short videos would ultimately live on Refinery29’s Instagram, I designed each composition with an appetizing geometric simplicity. Conceptually, I wanted to capture the feeling of multitasking that cooking can often require, so a super-human number of hands played a role in the preparation of each meal.
